My daughter has been staying busy this summer with her school’s summer program and other activities, but in her down time she has been enjoying an online learn to read program for kids called Reading Eggs. Reading Eggs is a great educational game that is based on the most up-to-date research on how children learn to read.
What she and I, both, really like about this reading game is that she can do it all by herself. A lot of other games require a person to read instructions in order to play, even kids games. This game talks to her and tells her what to do and how to play. There are activities for kids of all ages, ranging from 3 to 13 years old. Whether they are just learning to read or already know how to read and want to further develop their skills Reading Eggs has levels for both and all in between. I like that this program has a comprehension placement test that puts kids on the reading level they need to be on. We found that the placement test accurately put my 6 year old where she needed to be on the program, it wasn’t too hard, but it wasn’t too easy either. The interactive animations, fun actives and rewards system of the game hold her attention helping her to stay focused, which can be hard to do sometimes.
Here is what my daughter has to say about Reading Eggs:
“I really like the game, it helps me read. I’ve learned new words and have lots of fun playing the games.”
